The following are the requirements for applicants who are not Japanese citizens. If you have any questions, you may inquire by phone.
Note: The telephone representatives speak Japanese only.
Must be a resident of Japan for one year or longer.
Must have 6 months or more remaining if your stay in Japan is limited.
Must be able to communicate in Japanese, including reading and writing. (Job training and manuals are all in Japanese only and the majority of our Guests are Japanese. In order to learn the skills required for all job roles and to provide the quality of service that our Guests expect, Japanese language skills at a native-speaker level is indispensable.)
Must currently hold one of the following visas
Permanent resident visa.
Special permanent resident visa.
Long-term resident visa.
Visa for spouse of Japanese citizens or for spouse/child of permanent residents.
Foreign student (a copy of the “Permission to Engage in an Activity other than that Permitted by the Status of Residence Previously Granted” is required at time of employment)
Preparation for the interview
You will be required to show your Alien Registration Card, Residence Card, or Special Permanent Resident Certificate at the interview.
The job application documents (used in place of your curriculum vitae) should be filled out completely in Japanese. The interview will only be conducted in Japanese.
No one is permitted to attend the interview with you as an interpreter or support person.
The application process and interview will take place on the same day and may take some time, depending on the number of applicants that day.
